I am thinking about changing to your hosting service. How do I transfer my domain name? I do not know who it was registered through. My present host did it for me as part of the service.
You will need to contact your present host and ask them to supply you the details of where your domain is registered.
To point your domain to another host, you need to be able to change the dns settings for the domain using the nameservers of the new host.

I've seen domain names ending with two-letter combinations, like .uk. What are the rules for registering in these domains?
Two letter domains, such as .uk, .de and .jp (for example), are called country code top level domains (ccTLDs) and correspond to a country, territory, or other geographic location. The rules and policies for registering domain names in the ccTLDs vary significantly and some are reserved for use by citizens of the corresponding country. You should check with the registrar offering ccTLD registration services regarding the specific terms and conditions for registration. ProPanel supports hosting of such domains.

Someone else has registered by company's name as a .com domain name. What is the process for resolving my complaint?
All ICANN-accredited registrars follow a uniform dispute resolution policy. Under that policy, disputes over entitlement to a domain-name registration are ordinarily resolved by court litigation between the parties claiming rights to the registration. Once the court rules who is entitled to the registration, the registrar will implement that ruling. In disputes arising from registrations allegedly made abusively (such as "cybersquatting" and cyberpiracy"), the uniform policy provides an expedited administrative procedure to allow the dispute to be resolved without the cost and delays often encountered in court litigation. In these cases, you can invoke the administrative procedure by filing a complaint with one of the dispute-resolution service providers listed at http://www.icann.org/udrp/approved-providers.htm. For more details on the uniform dispute resolution policy, see http://www.icann.org/udrp/udrp.htm

How long does it take to register or transfer a domain name?
It will take you just a few minutes to register a domain, but it might not be available on the Internet for up to 72 hours. This is due to the fact that Internet DNS databases are updated only once a day, causing the delay.

Will my name and contact information for my domain name be publicly available?
Yes. Information about who is responsible for domain names is publicly available to allow rapid resolution of technical problems and to permit enforcement of consumer protection, trademark, and other laws. The registrar will make this information available to the public on a "Whois" site. We as a host have no control over this.

What is involved in registering a domain name in .com, .net or .org?
To register a domain name, you will be asked to provide the registrar you select with the various contact and technical information that makes up the registration. ProPanel will guide you through the process, and will make it extremely easy. Your Premium Webhost Control Panel will automatically contact the registrar, who will then keep records of the contact information and submit the technical information to a central directory known as the "registry." This registry provides other computers on the Internet the information necessary to send you e-mail or to find your web site. You will also be required to enter a registration contract with the registrar, which sets forth the terms under which your registration is accepted and will be maintained.

I've just changed the nameserver information at my registrar, but I want to work on my site so it's ready when the dns propogates. How can I see my site?
After you've added your domain name in your control panel, go to 'Account Info' on the left then click on the link for your domain name. Halfway down the list is a section with 'Web Service' in it. Click 'edit' next to this, and it will take you to a page with options to set for the domain.
Scroll right down to the bottom of the page, where you will see a text area with different options entered into it. Next to 'Server Alias' in this box, you will see your domain name and after it, another one with the format of xxxx.p21.premiumwebhost.com. Use this to get to your website until the dns changes and you can access your website through the domain name.

Click on 'add' next to it, and put in the name you wish to use. You don't need to add the '.domain.com' after it. I've just signed up for an account with Premium Webhost. When I log in, there's a domain called xxx.u21.premiumwebhost.com. What's that all about? What do I do with it?
This is your stopgap domain. You can choose to use this, or you can delete it if you want to use your own domain name and don't have a need for this one.
You have the option of adding another one at a later stage if you wish to remove all domain names from that account.

What is a stopgap domain?
A stopgap domain alows to create hosting if you don`t have any domain name. If you register with a stopgap domain, you will get a domain name like "loginname.u1.your-base-domain". You can create your own web-site and access it with either the IP (if the IP is dedicated) or the above domain name. This kind of domain doesn`t have any registration records in the DNS.

What is a domain.
Domain names are the familiar, easy to remember names for computers on the Internet (such as internic.net). They correspond to a series of numbers (called Internet Protocol numbers) that serve as routing addresses on the Internet. Domain names are used generally as a convenient way of locating information and reaching others on the Internet.

Transferring your domain
This article has been put in place in order for Premium Webhost to host your domain name and associate it with your hosting service.
For this process to be completed successfully a domain name modification request needs to be placed with the company that your domain name is registered with, this is known as your domain registrar.
The domain modification/transfer process is the complete responsibility of the customer (the domain owner). If you need assistance transferring your domain name, please contact your domain registrar for technical support - you've paid for this support by virtue of owning a domain name with the registrar. It is important to understand that Premium Webhost has no more power to transfer your domain than a complete stranger would.
In order for Premium Webhostto correctly resolve your domain name to the IP address of your hosting account, your domain name nameservers must reflect the following Premium Webhost server information.
Primary Server Hostname: NS.PREMIUMADVANTAGE.COM
Primary Netaddress: 65.57.231.100
Secondary Server Hostname: NS2.PREMIUMADVANTAGE.COM
Secondary Netaddress: 65.57.229.206
